The Pacifier (Widescreen Edition)

Vin Diesel is game to soften his tough-guy image in The Pacifier, in which he plays hot-shot Navy S.E.A.L. Shane Wolfe, whose latest mission goes awry when the scientist he's sent to rescue is popped off before he can tell Wolfe where he's hidden some Top Secret software something-or-other. Before you can say Kindergarten Cop, Wolfe is assigned guard duty at the scientist's family home, where he's left with some unruly kids when the widow (Faith Ford) takes off to Switzerland to claim her hubby's safety deposit box under the guidance of Wolfe's superior officer. The trouble with this paint-by-numbers fish-out-of-water kiddie comedy is that Diesel himself is a fish out of water in the movie--he's no comic and is far funnier when he's unintentionally spoofing macho heroics in The Chronicles of Riddick. The film limply throws everything it can at you, including the idea of Wolfe directing a community theater production of The Sound of Music, but is just biding its time until the predictable action climax and hugs-all-around denouement. Vin doesn't look embarrassed, but the supporting cast sure does, especially Everybody Loves Raymond's Brad Garrett as a bombastic vice principal and Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham as Garrett's boss and Diesel's sudden love interest.--Steve Wiecking
Customer Review: An Absolute Delight Could have Been Better
An absolute delight but could have been better. This Film was a delight for all ages and all audiences but there could have been better scenes and the movie itself could have been a little more practical. otherwise i recommend it for everyone and say that its very clean with a little bit of everything. The movie starts out with a tough mean looking navy seal whose assignment is to 'babysit' some children. he must do this because the father holds very important information and he has been kidnapped. the mother must go away for a few days and so Mr. Shane Wolfe (vin Diesel) is stuck with a babysitting job. and of course after a few days Shane gets used to handling the teens and diapers and toddlers in the household.... This is a fun filled adventure good for the whole family!
Customer Review: Paci
Who wouldn't love this movie! It's awesome and the whole family can enjoy it.

The Caribbean

A vacation at one of the islands in the Caribbean offers excitement as well as relaxation in a stunning, tropical setting. The eastern region of the islands, commonly known as the Lesser Antilles, Tobago and Trinidad, begins just east of Puerto Rico and stretches just about to the coast of Venezuela. These islands include impressive mountains, rain forests and black, as well as white, sandy beaches.

The western portion of the Caribbean is well-known for the ancient Mayan ruins that abound, as well as for the luxurious resorts, carnivals and local festivities occurring frequently throughout the year. St. Maarten, St. Thomas, San Juan and Barbados are among the most popular travel destinations in the southern Caribbean and offer tourists an authentic island experience.

France

Paris, France, home of the famous Eiffel Tower, remains one of the world's top travel destinations for honeymooners and travelers alike. Other cities in France that provide an ideal spot to vacation if you're looking for beauty, charm and a rich sense of history are Lyon and Marseille. Other islands include Lanai, which is famous for its impressive rock formations as well as the distinct ambiance of romance, luxury and privacy. The state's capital, Honolulu, is located on the island of Oahu, which is home to the majority of Hawaii's population and boasts a vibrant mix of culture and entertainment.

Lower Your Energy Costs, Increase Humidity Levels And Breathe In Fresh Air When You Install An Evaporative Air Cooler!

An evaporative air cooler works on different mechanisms as compared to air conditioners. Unlike air conditioners, which refrigerate air, an evaporative air cooler pulls in air, cools the air through evaporation and circulates the cool air all over the area.Evaporative air coolers are not as popular as air conditioners as many people are still not aware of the great benefits they offer. The following section explores reasons for getting an evaporative cooler at your home or in a factory.

With Less Energy Used, Evaporative Air Coolers Help To Lower Your Household Energy Costs

Evaporative coolers possess low energy capacities. Thus, at only half the price of an air conditioner, an evaporative cooler uses 75 % less than an air conditioner, but has the capability to cool the same area space. In fact, most evaporative air coolers are able to cool up to 350 square feet.

According to a survey conducted in Australia, it takes only $0.04 an hour to operate an evaporative air cooler in a room, while an air conditioner will cost about $0.30 for the same duration.

Apart from that, installation fees for evaporative air coolers are also relatively cheaper. As they can be installed in an existing air duct system in your house, only a short duct is required to lead the cool air into your house. This means that it is not necessary for you to spend a lot of money to create a new air circulation system.

Rid Your Home Of Dry Air And Increase Humidity Levels

Evaporative air cooler works by moisturizing the air, as wet pads are used to cool the air. With this, you will be glad to know that your furniture and fabrics will be kept well moisturized too. This will definitely help maintain the durability and lifespan of your furniture.

Bring In Fresh Air Into Your Home, Keeping Your Home Smelling New And Clean

In addition to cooling the air, evaporative air coolers also help in channeling fresh air into your home. With an evaporative air cooler, air circulation occurs every 2 to 3 minutes. Hot air from the house is being pushed out by cool air through evaporation. When this happens, bad odor, dust and smoke will be eliminated along with the hot air. The frequent air circulation ensures that there is a continuous supply of fresh air. The risk of bacteria being trapped air can be reduced significantly. The moisture pad, which is an integral part of the evaporative air cooler, also functions as a filter, which helps to trapped dust from entering your houses.

Refrigerant Free, Evaporative Coolers Are Truly Environmental Friendly

Love the environment as much as you love yourself. This is one good reason why it is essential to install an evaporative air cooler. Air coolers do not require refrigerants like Freon, which are detrimental to the ozone layer. Air coolers also have the potential to curb noise pollution. Most evaporative air coolers are designed to use a blower instead of an axial fan and this helps to keep the unit quiet.

Easy Maintenance Through Refillable Water Tanks Or Even A Garden Hose Connection

Easy maintenance is one of the best reasons for getting an evaporative air cooler. All coolers come with refillable water tanks which are strategically positioned for easy access. Each refill will last you up to 10 hours. However, if you require a longer operational period, get an air cooler with a hose connection which continuously supplies fresh water to the cooler. All filters can be removed and rinsed to ensure that you continue to breathe fresh clean air.

Andrew Caxton is a journalist who has written more articles and newsletters on the subject for http://www.evaporative-air-coolers.com . If you would like more information on this topic please checkout his website at swamp air coolers

Customer Review: Stupid...nice concept but doesn't work
I bought six of these for stocking stuffers. I kept one for myself. I tried using it and didn't work. The product didn't have any suction and only made noises with a really nasty smell coming out. Cool concept but it needs to work in order for people to buy it!
Customer Review: Surprisingly powerful
Picked this gadget up online at first as a joke for some firends at work. Then when we got it, we tried it out and it picked up crumbs off my keyboard and in between the keys on my laptop. Most of the work is done when you push the "Turbo Button" and it revs up. Some people at the office did not like it - too gimicky but someone did "borrow it" from my desk and now she uses it all the time - and keeps it at her desk! Good value for 10$ if you eat at your desk

Skydiving is a hobby that's enjoyed by people of all ages. A favorite of those with a penchant for thrills, this hobby can be a little costly, but for those in love with its draw, nothing compares with a clean jump for fun, excitement and pure adrenaline rush. The fun of it all is what keeps people coming back.

There are those, of course, who say "Why jump out of a perfectly operable plane?" Skydive lovers will respond: "because it's there." The views, the thrills and the sheer excitement combine to make this sport one that's loved by people the world over. Jumpers can virtually be of any age as long as their physical condition doesn't impede them from taking part in this thrill-seeking sport.

First time jumpers will find the experience is like no other. Just imagine standing thousands of feet above the earth's surface and jumping to the depths below. Freefalling through the sky as the view below is taken in in all its glory. Nothing, absolutely, nothing compares.

For those with a desire to skydive, there are plenty of locations the world over willing to take first-timers and even fiftieth-timers on tandem jumps or offer training for solo jumps. From Florida and California to Colorado, Europe and beyond, any place there's a small airport, there's likely to be a skydiving opportunity available.

First timers will find that most jump locations require them to go tandem at least for a while. Specialized classes generally are required for those who want to jump. The on the ground training will generally be offered at no charge for those who want to jump. If the schooling scares them off, there's no charge.

The courses cover the basics involved in jumping and prepare those new at skydiving for what to expect. Since most beginners' jumps are tandem, though, the student shouldn't have to worry about needing to know it all as an expert. Tandem jumps are assisted by experienced divers who handle all the necessary maneuvering so the "newbie" can kick back and enjoy the view - provided his or her eyes are open!

So, what's the appeal of jumping from a plane? The view, of course! Sky dive locations in places such as Las Vegas, for example, give participants a view of the earth from several miles above the ground below. Imagine being able to take in the Strip, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Colorado River all at once! Nothing quite compares.

It might not be for everyone, but those who love to skydive say they do it for the thrills, the freedom and the views. Few things can come close to the thrill of a freefall from several miles up while the eyes take in sights only the birds are generally privy to. The sport in and of itself is loved by thousands the world over of all ages. Getting started, too, isn't as expensive as it might seem and generally there's no risk for those who just want to "check it out" before they commit.

Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge

This powerful home steam vacuum saves you the expense and hassle of having to rent a steam cleaner and keeps rugs, upholstery, and bare floors (other than hardwoods) looking like new. The powerful 12-amp motor combined with five spinning brushes that operate at either high or low speed lift the usual dirt and grime out of carpets. By pulling on the trigger in the comfortable upright handle, this deep cleaner releases the included carpet/upholstery cleaner and hot tap water. For more stubborn stains or for high-traffic areas, this SteamVac also has a Clean Surge feature, which sends an extra blast of cleaning solution into the stain by simply pressing a button on the handle. When cleaning is complete, release the trigger and the SteamVac forces hot air into the cleaning path so you can do a few dry strokes over the stain. This deep cleaner has two separate water tanks to keep clean water apart from dirty water. The top tank holds the detergent and 1 gallon of hot water and automatically mixes the two so you don't need to get your hands wet. The lower tank holds the dirty solution picked up from the carpet and unlatches to easily pour out into a sink without spilling.

For cleaning stairs or upholstery, this deep cleaner has a long 8-foot hose and a special stair/upholstery nozzle that scrubs out spots. Other attachments include a bare floor nozzle and a powered hand tool that is also ideal for upholstery or small carpet areas. All tools are mounted on the front of the vac in a handy case. Other features of this deep cleaner include a brush indicator, which informs you that the brushes are spinning; an on/off foot pedal; a handle release pedal; and a 27-inch wraparound cord. The Hoover SteamVac is covered by a full one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
Customer Review: Good Machine but Has it's issues
I bought the hoover steamvac in April 2008 as a replacement for my older hoover(water pump broke). The new version has several improvements over the old one, mainly it seems to do a much better job of removing solution and blows warm air over the carpet. It does a great job cleaning. Some of the things I don't like: -connecting and removing the upholstery tool requires more steps than the older version. However, this does correct a problem with breaking vacuum hoses when you open the unit up and tilt the handle back too far. The new design eliminates this problem but requires more work. Acceptable trade off in my opinon. - The solution tank has small holes in the top. If you tilt the handle back too far, like when you are trying to remove the recovery tank, it will leak solution all inside the machine and on the floor. The manual says to remove the solution tank when removing the recovery tank. - After three uses the center brush of the brush assembly, the one with the green square shaft, started falling out whenever I tilted the front up or lifted the machine. I don't know why this started happening. I have emailed Hoover support about this problem. All things considered, the machine does a good job even with it's issues. I paid $138 and would consider this product again. I will update this review once I hear back from Hoover on the brush issue.
Customer Review: Fantastic Results
used it to do all the carpets in my house and I was amazed how much dirt it pulled out of the carpet. did a great job. the Hoover Cleaning solution had a fresh smell when i got finished

The United States Environmental Protection Agency states: Indoor air can be two to twenty times more hazardous than outdoor air, and the average person spends approximately 90% of their time indoors. With such potent statistics, having an air cleaner that delivers fresh, pure, air seems as essential as a refrigerator in your home, or a computer in your office. Here are 3 tips for finding an air cleaner that will deliver only fresh air to the indoor air you breathe.

  • 1. Check to make sure your air cleaner is made of steel rather than plastic. An air cleaner made of steel with a baked-on powder coat finish will insure that your air cleaner will infuse your air with only fresh, clean air unlike their plastic counterparts which sometimes give off fumes (out-gassing) once the motor heat warms the plastic.

  • 2. Identify the pollutants you want to remove and make sure the air cleaner is designed to remove those pollutants. For example, if you are looking for an air cleaner for the office because of gases or chemicals such as carpet smells, copier toner, paint smells or other gases you should choose a much different air cleaner that if you are looking for an air cleaner to remove pet dander and odor.

  • 3. Measure your space accurately, and be sure to figure the extra square footage if your ceiling height is above 8 feet. An air cleaner will only deliver the results you want if you place the cleaner in the square footage it was designed to clean.

Quality steel construction, matching your pollutants with the capability of the air cleaner, and getting the correct size air cleaner for your square footage will insure that the air you breathe in your home or office is fresh, pure air.

"Have a Great Depression!" Bumper Sticker

Tell the world how you feel! Our bumper stickers are perfect for expressing yourself while cruising down the highway or just for posting on the wall.

Early in the last century, public drinking water purification systems were introduced to protect the populations of our cities from sometimes fatal waterborne diseases. The problem is that in many cities around the country, the drinking water purification system has changed little since it was first implemented.

I'm sure that the public utilities do what they can, for the most part. Of course, there have been reports in respected publications that indicate otherwise, but that could just be human error. It is hard for me to believe that anyone would risk the health of his friends and neighbors by faking test results that allow the EPA to continue to approve a public drinking water purification system that is no longer effective.

Of course, it could be that the employees are unaware of or do not believe in the risks. If you worked at a treatment facility on a daily basis and you saw all of the treatment processes that were in place, you might just think that there could not possibly be anything wrong.

You would be familiar with the processes involved in water purification which include flocculation, UV disinfection, carbon filtration, water softening, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, deionization and chemical disinfection, among others.

You might know what the source-water looked and smelled like. You might see that sand, as well as, organic material, parasites, giardia, cryptosporidium, bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi, minerals and metals are at least partially removed by the drinking water purification systems used at you place of employment.

So, it could be that you believe in your company's drinking water purification system and that you think the testing is flawed. In truth, the tests are flawed, but not in the way that you might think.

The EPA realized that there were contaminants in groundwater and reservoirs. They felt that 100% removal was impossible. So, they established "safe" upper limits for public drinking water purification systems.

Of course, no drinking water purification system can remove all of the pollutants and industrial contaminants that are present in the environment. But, there are home filtration devices that come close at 99.99%.

But, aside from that, the safe upper limits for municipal drinking water purification systems were based on the idea that everyone in the country weighs at least 175 pounds. You see the toxicity of a contaminant has to do with the size and weight of the creature being used for testing. In most cases, the original tests were performed using laboratory mice and then the human toxicity was extrapolated from those results.

In this way they established "tolerable upper limits" for a drinking water purification system. They never considered how little a child weighs when it is born and how tap-water is used to make formula, particularly by families that are poor. They never considered the long-term health risks of consuming these contaminants on a regular basis throughout an individual's life. And, they never considered that the "average" weight does not apply to everyone in the country. So, they never considered our children.

Now that you know this you will see why every health conscious family should consider the installation of point-of-use or in-home drinking water purification systems that are certified to remove at least 99% of the toxins in our environment.

Hugh Harris-Evans is a writer and researcher on water purification issues. Visit his site now at http://www.brightwaterfilter.com to get the facts on how to choose the best water purification system.

During his fourth missionary journey, Paul had instructed Timothy to care for the church at Ephesus while he went on to Macedonia. ( 1 Timothy 1:3). When he realized that he might not return to Ephesus in the near future, he wrote the first letter to Timothy. Paul chooses his words carefully as he instructs Timothy As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus Besought is a strong word that Paul used to convey a sense of urgency and to show that the Christian leader is responsible to instruct those he leads. In 1 Timothy 3:15, Paul articulates the reason for the letter and clarifies his instruction to the young Timothy: But if I tarry long, that thou may knowest how thou oughtest to behave thyself1. He wanted to articulate his leadership values to Timothy.

A leader that is willing to expend resources without clearly defined and articulated values is essentially creating a formula for failure. Enthusiasm, excitement, innovation, and zeal can be great traits with proper direction. Values constitute this direction. If leaders do not deliberately shape organizational values, the organization will form its own. "Your organization will be guided by values, whether or not you deliberately decide what those values are. It can't be assumed that naturally occurring values will be desirable.2 Paul understood that it was essential to define Christian leadership values for Timothy and the other leaders at Ephesus through his letter.

Though the letter was addressed to Timothy, it was designed for the benefit of the entire church to provide instruction on the conduct of leadership. In a time where books were scarce, Paul was undoubtedly aware that the letter would be read to the entire congregation. Leaders at every level must be aware of how their personal values shape the values-based culture. This does not mean that they have to infuse their own values into the organization. However, leaders who ignore their responsibility to shape organizational values will create a culture that is not moving in the direction they want to go. If organizational culture is left to self-formation, it will run to the lowest common denominator and form its own restrictive and counterproductive rulebook.3 We must carefully choose, train, and develop anyone aspiring to leadership.

What Type of Vacuum Cleaner is Best?

A vacuum cleaner is the most effective of cleaning tools; it can also be the more expensive. There are many different types of vacuum with many different features. So before you buy a top rated vacuum cleaner make sure you know what type of vacuum cleaner is best for your needs.

Choosing the best vacuum cleaner can be confusing. To help make things clearer you should know what the different types of vacuum are, what the main features you can find on a vacuum cleaner, and want you type of flooring you will be using a vacuum cleaner on.

There are two main types of vacuum cleaner: upright and cylinder. Both offer advantages and disadvantages. Before deciding if you should by a canister or upright, you should ask yourself a few questions. The following guidelines will help you find the answer.

Upright vacuum cleaners are heavier than cylinder vacuums. An upright vacuum cleaner can be more difficult to manoeuvre and less suited to cleaning small gaps and spaces. If weight is an issue, then you are best off with a canister vacuum. Many uprights come with attachments to help you clean those more hard-to-get-at places. The Oreck XL upright vacuum cleaner is one of the lightest on the market, weighing in at only 8lbs! However, the Oreck doesn't come with attachments, and you have to wind on the cord by hand. The main advantage of upright vacuum cleaners is suction power. The motor is nearer the vacuum head than a cylinder.

Cylinder vacuum cleaners are easier to use because the motor units tends to be smaller and you can vacuum a large area with the head, without having to move the motor. Most cylinder vacuum cleaners come with attachments that are housed inside them for quick retrieval and put-away. The Electrolux Harmony canister vacuum is an excellent vacuum and has been designed to be ultra quiet.

Both upright and canister vacuum cleaner offer features to make cleaning better, or more convenient, or safer. The following is a list of the main features that come with vacuum cleaners. It should be borne in mind that the more features a vacuum cleaner has, the more expensive it will be.

Power

A vacuum cleaner with powerful suction can depend on many things but the wattage of the motor is a very good indicator of its power. The more Watts a vacuum has, the more powerful it is. A good figure for a cylinder cleaner is around 1400 Watts, and 1300 for an upright.

Bag or Bagless

This seems to be the latest, and most confusing, feature on many vacuum cleaners. Until recently, all vacuum cleaners collected dirt in a bag. However, this changed when Dyson vacuum cleaners came on to the market. The main disadvantage with vacuums that use bags is loss of suction as the bag fills up. A bagless vacuum like the Dyson DC07 upright vacuum cleaner does not use dust bags but induces suction by means of centrifugal force. Vacuums that don't use bags don't loose suction power. Bagless vacuum cleaners tend to be more expensive that ones that use bags. Another disadvantage of bagless vacuum cleaners is empty the dust cup. Bagged models can be more hygienic because the dirt and dust is collected in a sealed bag. If you or anyone in your house is asthmatic then it is better to go for a bagged cleaner.

Filtration

When a vacuum sucks up dirt some particles are expelled out the exhaust of the vacuum. The type of filter determines the size and number of particles that are expelled. There are now three types of filters on offer. Standard filtration is now usually found in only low cost vacuum cleaners. If you buy a vacuum cleaner with standard filtration, make sure you look for one with more than one filtration level. S-class and HEPA filters greatly reduce the number and size of particles that are emitted back into the air. These types of filter retain up to 99.97% of dust, down to 0.3 microns (microscopic in size). Allergy sufferers should only consider using HEPA filters. There are now many top rated HEPA vacuum cleaners, the Eureka 3684D canister vacuum being one of the best.

Other Types of Vacuum Cleaners

There are many other types of vacuum cleaners offering specialized cleaning capabilities. Stick vacuum cleaner are light weight and meant for small cleaning jobs and are great for high area such as the tops of curtains. Handheld vacuum cleaners are also meant for clearing up spills and typically come with a wall mounting and charging unit.

Steam vacuum cleaners use steam to lift out dirt from carpets. These are very effective in getting out ground in dirt. They are not that difficult to use and a good quality steam vacuum like the Hoover SteamVac should leave the carpet dry to the touch after use. Finally, Wet and Dry vacuum cleaners are versatile units. They can be used in dry mode exactly like their more common counterparts. But they can also be used to clean your carpet with water and carpet shampoo, leaving your carpet clean and sweet smelling. The Eureka InstaRinse Cleaning System is an excellent wet to dry vacuum.

Deciding on what vacuum cleaner is best is first deciding on what your requirement are. There are many excellent vacuum cleaners on the market from companies like Hoover, Dyson, Eureka and Electrolux. All these companies - and others - make 'the best vacuum', but whether it is the best vacuum cleaner for cleaning your carpets, depends on your exact requirements.

Visit classvacuumcleaners.com to find what is the best vacuum cleaner for you from brands such as Eureka vacuum cleaners and Dyson vacuum cleaners amongst others.

2008 Score Football Card # 43 Brad Hoover FB - Carolina Panthers / Highly Collectible NFL Football Card!

2008 Score Football Card # 43 Brad Hoover FB - Carolina Panthers / Highly Collectible NFL Football Card!

It really doesn't matter if you love or hate Google.

Either way, you have to admit they are a pretty shrewd outfit. Coming from a standing start just over seven years ago, they have streaked past more longer-established search engines, such as Yahoo, to dominate the internet.

In fact, like Hoover, their name is now a generic term for using search engines, with the verb "Googled" now firmly established in dictionaries all over the world.

So, when Google paid, $1.6 billion for a fledgling business just over a year old you know something big is occurring. And that something is online video.

Another milestone was passed in May 2007, when Google was the first search engine to incorporate video results into their main results: "Universal Search". So, from now on, you will gradually see an increasing mix of text and video on the same pages.

Right now, the ratio of video to text is tiny, which is where our advantage comes in. Eventually, the reverse will be the case, by which time you'll be firmly established as an internet top dog.

Now Yahoo have recently followed Google by giving their search engine visitors the choice of text or video search. The advantage to us is that, a few days after our videos are listed on Google, Yahoo take them and display them on their listings. This means we get an extra 25% exposure for absolutely no extra effort!

So video is certainly not some passing fad, that you can safely ignore. The only reason video wasn't pre-eminent on the internet from Day One was simply the technology did not exist.

Now it does, it's interesting to see Adobe copying Google's business plan and acquiring the ready made technology of businesses, such as Macromedia (Flash) and, more recently, the video editing expertise of Serious Magic.

The guys who really set the seal on online video was the Adobe Corporation, Having acquired Macromedia and their Flash technology, Adobe repeated what they had done to make their PDF document system so ubiquitous and gave away free Flash players.

Like the Adobe Acrobat Reader, there is a version for both Macs and PCs, making online video viewable on a common standard by virtually anyone with an internet connection.

Add to that the almost universal use of high speed broadband internet connections and video is all set to take its rightful place as the major method of online communication - just as TV is the major communication medium off-line.

So what can you use online video for?

The short answer is this. . . to vastly increase the success of every aspect of your internet marketing.

Not only can you use it to develop a very visible presence on the search engine results, but you can also use it in your entire marketing operation from creating more compelling opt-ins for your mailing list to increasing the conversion rates of your sales page and even creating whole new product lines, using video.

Why video:

Although humans communicate with words, our brains work in pictures. Remember that saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words"? So just imagine, if a picture is worth a thousand words, how much more effective moving pictures, in the form of video is.

How can you use video?

As today using online video on your internet sites is just scratching the endless possibilities of what video can really do for you to increase your online sales.

So to get your mind going here are five simple tips how you can use video:

**Video Squeeze Pages: there are marketers that use simple five
second videos showing something like "Claim your free gift
today" on their landing or squeeze pages. Putting the video in
an exit pop-up window can triple your opt-in rates.

**Video Testimonials: displaying one or more video testimonials
from satisfied clients gives your product or service "social
proof" and doing so will give you more credibility. Users love
to hear what others are saying about "product XY" and it makes
their decision process "to buy or not to buy" much more easier.

**Produce video tutorials: if you are into "how to" products,
writing ebooks etc. why not create video tutorials and add those
to your existing product? People nowadays love to get things
delivered via multimedia. Also positive learning effects come
much faster by watching a step by step video than by reading a
60 page tutorial.

**Use videos to promote affiliate products: if you promote
Clickbank products, you can produce simple videos that give a
short overview of the product and expose the main benefits. This
way you'll have an unfair advantage over other affiliates that
are all using the same provided merchandising tools.

**Use video to increase your affiliate sales: if you let
affiliates sell your products, you can give them promotional
videos, which they can show visitors of their websites and after
that redirect to your sales page. It's a proven fact that providing
affiliates with effective merchandising tools is a highly effective
way to increase sales and what better tool than videos can you
think of to provide?

So if you want to get more website traffic and increase online sales, you should ask yourself: How do I get started on my own online video site?

Marcus Schroefel runs a huge online video network and has helped many people creating their own on-line videos on a shoestring budget through his online video tutorials: http://SecretOnlineVideoProfits.info He is a full time internet publisher and marketer, who has published lots of ebooks and multi-media courses and far too many videos to mention here.

Steam cleaners are used on carpets; they emit steam to moisterize the carpet before picking up dirt. One of the products that have made a big difference in our usual cleaning routine is a steam cleaner. Steam cleaners have been quite popular because of their versatility and flexibility. They are not only used for household purposes, but for industrial applications as well. This cleaning device is considered one of the most potent and practical tools for cleaning and disinfecting, especially in supermarkets, sports arena, automobile shops and other places commonly visited by people.

Many consumers prefer to use a steam cleaner to other traditional cleaning methods, because of its innumerable advantages in cleaning and sanitizing. Aside from those advantages and benefits, it is a wonder how steam cleaners work. Simple tap water generates heated dry steam that removes dirt embedded in carpets and upholstery.

Another good point of these cleaners is that they do not pose a danger to our environment. Anyone can use them since they are not detrimental to one's health and over all being. These cleaners are not only safe to use, they are also proven effective in taking out the dust and stains along with other noxious waste and allergens.

Hence, you can use steam cleaners for every room in your home. Rugs in your living room will look brand new. If you have carpets in your children's rooms, what better way to keep them safe from unwanted germs. Steam cleaners are particularly helpful if you own pets. Grime and odor simply disappears.

Hard Times: An Oral History of the Great Depression

Studs Terkel's classic history of the Great Depression.

In this unique re-creation of one of the most dramatic periods in modern American history, Studs Terkel recaptures the Great Depression of the 1930s in all its complexity. The book is a mosaic of memories from those who were richest to those who were most destitute: politicians like James Farley and Raymond Moley; businessmen like Bill Benton and Clement Stone; a six-day bicycle racer; artists and writers; racketeers; speakeasy operators, strikers, and impoverished farmers; people who were just kids; and those who remember losing a fortune.

Hard Times is not only a gold mine of information-much of it little known-but also a fascinating interplay of memory and fact, showing how the Depression affected the lives of those who experienced it firsthand, often transforming the most bitter memories into a surprising nostalgia.
Customer Review: gives voices to those who lived through the Depression
As a former grad student in History, I found this book fascinating. Author Studs Terkel interviews people who lived through the Depression and gets their takes on that difficult period. We hear the experiences and memories of those who lived through it from multiple points of view. The book was published in 1970 and much of the research was accordingly done during the second half of the '60s which was also quite a turbulent time in the United States. Accordingly, a question which Terkel most frequently asks his subjects is how people would react to a Depression at that time. Most thought little of the ability of those coming of age or boomers during the '60s to weather the travails of the Depression. Many also thought that a worse Depression was coming. That would seem not to have been the case although it would seem that since the publication of this book, the economic standing of the large majority of Americans has actually decreased. With the current economic troubles in the United States (and the world), it was interesting to read of the difficulties experienced by many people during the Depression. It was also very interesting to read of the strong anti-Roosevelt-ism among many business magnates and the highest ranks of the upper-middle class. It was also intriguing to read of the belief of some that the Depression did not extend past 1936. Having not studied much Depression history in nearly 20 years, at least not in any great depth, and certainly not having heard people offering their own accounts of their experiences during the Depression, this book was tremendously enlightening. Terkel interviews old retired farmers. He interviews men who were factory workers during the Depression. He interviews those who worked in social services attempting to alleviate some of the pains of the Depression. As mentioned, he interviews business magnates. He interviews many who were help during the '30s-many of whom were black. By virtue of his speaking to such a wide variety of people, one does not believe that one has a limited understanding of the range of experiences had by people during this time period. We see history from the point-of-view of those with a wide variety of economic backgrounds. This allows the reader to see the subjectivity of history and introduces points of view (the poor, women, black and Latino people) which one might not read of in a textbook. The stories and their specificity of recall are fascinating. This really is a gem of a book. It expands the range off thinking about the '30s and I am sure opened avenues of thinking to historical researchers who wanted to broaden the scope of recollections about the Depression. If you think you're only getting a limited perspective about the experiences of the '30s, please read this book.
Customer Review: The revolution that shoulda, coulda been
This is the first book I've read on America's experience of the Great Depression of the 1930s. My parents and other relatives and some of my older friends went through it. One man whom I knew, frequently brought it up and with great bitterness and anger, often directing that anger to others around him - especially those who were younger and didn't go through it - while others had little or nothing to say and seemed to brush it aside. Most though, seem to just want to forget it. One fine elderly woman - my grandmother - was incredibly generous and loving to others the rest of her life, because of living through it. It still stuns me to see how these people with similar experiences could react so differently so many years later. The author, being a Chicago man, places a lot of emphasis on the Depression as it hit that city and its citizens. Also he has a definite Left-oriented sort of outlook - and after reading this book it becomes entirely understandable. He frequently brings up the possibilities of revolution during the 1930s when so many ordinary and poor people lost just about everything. But the message comes through clearly that the Americans of those years firstly still had respect for law and order and the government, and secondly they had a kind of optimism or set of positive 'it will pass' illusions that kept them going. Reading how people were treated back then, it is nonetheless a wonder that they really didn't rise up and overthrow the entire capitalist system. If a similar Depression occurred today, it would happen. And that is also the reflection of many voices in this book. I highly recommend this book to everyone. More than anything else, it taught me to understand more clearly how and why different generational values and perceptions were formed from that period - and how they have come to impact succeeding generations.

Typically, getting carpeting cleaned meant using a steam cleaner and spraying a large amount of water on your floors. Afterward, you'd have to avoid walking on the carpets for quite some time because they would still be damp. Fortunately, you don't have to go through that process any longer to get clean carpeting thanks to a new cleaning method that is becoming more popular.

Dry carpet cleaning works in a manner very similar to that used when dry cleaning your clothes. Chemicals are used for the removal of those pesky stains rather than water that is used when steam cleaning. With clothes and carpet that are cleaned by water they will take on a dingy appearance after a while. This isn't the case with chemical cleaning which will leave your carpet dry as well as stain and dirt free for a much longer period of time.

If you rent your home instead of owning it, you can still use dry carpet cleaning, provided you have the permission of your landlord before you begin. Most landlords would see the benefits of dry cleaning and the value it would add to their property. The risk of water damaging the sub-flooring is also much less with chemical cleaning, which would lessen the impact on your neighbors should something go amiss during the cleaning process. The risk of mold and mildew developing in your home or apartment is also greatly decreased since water is not being used.

Dry carpet cleaning may cost a little more than the traditional steam cleaning methods of carpet cleaning but is well worth the additional price tag in most cases. If you want your carpet looking great for guests or your own personal enjoyment then dry carpet cleaning is definitely a process worth considering. More and more professionals are offering this valuable service to consumers as demand grows. Chances are that there is a company near you that offers this valuable carpet cleaning service.

Finding a professional carpet cleaning company is easy. Start with your local Yellow Pages directory, or go browsing on the internet, depending on which you prefer. Carpet doesn't need to show visible stains for it to be dirty and in need of cleaning. It likely has deep down and embedded dirt that dry carpet cleaning could get rid of. Consider this service if you want to extend the life of your carpeting and make it look fresh again.

Bacco Bucci Men's Hoover (Brown 14.0 D)

Many people are still searching the internet for information on how to build a waterfall or koi pond. Unfortunately, there is very little information regarding professional construction. There are thousands of websites involved in marketing pond products to uninformed and unsuspecting customers.

The majority of these sites promotes and advocates the use of rubber pond liners. Why? Because they sell them. Rubber liners are profitable, primarily because of the add-on products related to the pond liner industry. For example, when you construct your pond using a pond liner, you have no choice but to buy all of the related accessories such as a biofilter, special skimmers and drains, and the large variety of energy-sucking, inefficient, short-lived sump pumps.

Rarely do pond liner dealers or installers tell you the whole truth about the unpredictability of liners and sump pumps. Rarely do they acknowledge the truth about the vulnerability of liners after they are installed - whether it be attacks by rats, mice, ground squirrels, gophers, chipmunks or the sharp claws of animals that can puncture the liner in their attempt to get out of the pond after accidentally or purposely entering it. Animals burrow under the liner through the easy access of the loose rocks piled around the pond and waterfall. Against the coolness of the liner, they build their nests and raise their families that can then chew holes in the liner.

Over the past fifteen years I have replaced countless leaky waterfalls and ponds constructed using rubber liners with concrete and rebar construction. In twenty-six years of building over 1900 waterfalls and ponds, I have never had one crack or leak.

Liner advocates tell you their liner has a thirty to forty year warranty, but fail to mention it is against factory defects only. They don't mention the other issues like rodents, heavy rocks stretching and ripping the liner, and damage from children with sharp sticks or garden utensils. I've seen it all!

Many water garden contractors will misrepresent the liner as the best construction material by saying concrete is expensive and it cracks. Yes, that is true, if you don't build it properly using 3500 psi concrete and rebar 8 to 10 inches on center. Plus, they say the alkali poisons the water. That is true only if you don't seal the concrete with a sealer after it is poured. Concrete construction costs 20-25% more than a liner, but it lasts for decades. You only have to replace one liner for the concrete pond to cost considerably less in the long run. In the past five years there have been scores of lawsuits against pond liner contractors and their clients win every time.

Doesn't it make sense to build it right in the first place?

What is The BCG Growth-Share Matrix? What are the main aspects of The BCG Growth-Share Matrix? How to develop Good BCG Growth-Share Matrix of a company? Where to find information for The BCG Growth-Share Matrix?

INTRODUCTION
No strategic management or marketing text appears to be complete without the inclusion of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) growth-share matrix. When used effectively, this model provides guidance for resource allocation. And despite its inherent weaknesses, is probably one of the most widely used management instrument as far as portfolio management is concern. For instant, each SBU (strategic business unit) of large companies such as General Electric, Siemens, and Centrica require different strategies to compete effectively and efficiently. It is not a question of one strategy fits all SBUs since the likelihood for each of them experiencing the same market growth rate, industry-threats and leverage is very slim. This is where the BCG model comes into play as a management analytical tool. The ensuing examines the underpinnings of the model, for what it is used, how to use it and why it is used.

WHAT IS THE BCG GROWTH-SHARE MATRIX?
To begin with, BCG is the acronym for Boston Consulting Group-a general management consulting firm highly respected in business strategy consulting. BCG Growth-Share Matrix (see figure 1) happens to be one of many of BCG's strategic concepts the organisation developed in the late 1970s, and is being taught at leading business schools and executive education programmes around the world.

It is a management tool that serves four distinct purposes (McDonald 2003; Kotler 2003; Cipher 2006): it can be used to classify product portfolio in four business types based on four graphic labels including Stars, Cash Cows, Question Marks and Dogs; it can be used to determine what priorities should be given in the product portfolio of a company; to classify an organisation's product portfolio according to their cash usage and generation; and offers management available strategies to tackle various product lines. Consider companies like Apple Computer, General Electric, Unilever, Siemens, Centrica and many more, engaging in diversified product lines. The BCG model therefore becomes an invaluable analytical tool to evaluate an organisation's diversified product lines as later seen in the ensuing sections.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN ASPECTS OF THE BCG GROWTH-SHARE MATRIX?
The BCG Growth-Share Matrix is based on two dimensional variables: relative market share and market growth. They often are pointers to healthiness of a business (Kotler 2003; McDonald 2003). In other words, products with greater market share or within a fast growing market are expected to wield relatively greater profit margins. The reverse is also true. Let's look at the following components of the model:
Fig. 1: Source: 12manage.com 2006

Relative Market Share
According to the proponents of the BCG (Herndemson 1972), It captures the relative market share of a business unit or product. But that is not all! It allows the analysed business unit be pitted against its competitors. As earlier emphasized above, this is due to the sometime correlation between relative market share and the product's cash generation. This phenomenon is often likened to the experience curve paradigm that when an organisation enjoys lower costs, improved efficiency from conducting business operations overtime. The basic tenet of this postulation is that the more an organisation performs a task often; it tends to develop new ways in performing those tasks better which results in lower operating cost (Cipher 2006). What that suggests is that the experience curve effect requires that market share is increased to be able to drive down costs in the long run and at the same time a company with a dominant market share will inevitably have a cost advantage over competitor companies because they have the greater share of the market. Hence, market share is correlated with experience.

A case in point is Apple Computer's flagship product called the iPod, which occupies a dominant 73% share the portable music player market (Cantrell 2006). Analysts believe it is the impetus for Apple's financial rebirth 40% of Apple's sales is attributed to the iPod product line (Cantrell 2006). Similarly, Dell's PC line shares the same market dominance theory as the iPod. The PC manufacture giant occupies a worldwide market share of 18.1%, which is commensurate to its large market revenue above its competitors (see figure 2).
Figure 2: Source: Reuters 2006

Market Growth
Market growth axis, correlates with the product life cycle paradigm, and predicates the cash requirement a product needs relative to the growth of that market. A fast growing market is generally considered attractive, and pulls a lot of organisation's resources in an effort to increase gains. A case in point is the technological market widely consider by experts as a fast growing market, and tends to attract a lot of competition. Therefore, a product life cycle and its associated market play a key role in decision-making.

Cash Cows
These products are said to have high profitability, and require low investment for the fact that they are market leaders in a low-growth market. This viewpoint is captured by the founders themselves thus:

The cash cows fund their own growth. They pay the corporate dividend. They pay the corporate overhead. They pay the corporate interest charges. They supply the funds for R&D. They supply the investment resource for other products. They justify the debt capacity for the whole company. Protect them (Henderson 1976).

According to experts (Drummond & Ensor 2004; Kotler 2003; McDonald 2003), surplus cash from cash cow products should be channelled into Stars and Questions in order to create the future Cash Cows.

Stars
Stars are leaders in high growth markets. They tend to/should generate large amounts of cash but also use a lot of cash because of growth market conditions. For example, Apple Computer has a large share in the rapidly growing market for portable digital music players (Cantrell 2006).

Question Marks
Question Marks have not achieved a dominant market position, and hence do not generate much cash. They tend to use a lot of cash because of growth market conditions. Consider Hewlett-Packard's small share of the digital camera market, behind industry leader Canon's 21% (Canon 2006). However, this is a rapidly growing market.

Dogs
Dogs often have little future and are big cash drainers on the company as they generate very little cash by virtue of their low market share in a highly low growth market.
Consider Pfizer's Inspra (Gibson 2006):

"Pfizer launched this drug in Q4 2003 and continues to pump money into this problem child, despite anaemic sales of roughly $40 million in the $2.7 billion heart-failure market dominated by Toprol-XL (metoprolol). It was thought to gain market share and become a star, and eventually a cash cow when the market growth slowed. But, according to industry's experts, Inspra is likely to remain a dog, despite any amount of promotion, given its perceived safety issues and a cheaper, more effective spironolactone in the same Pfizer portfolio. Because Pfizer invested heavily in promotion early on with Inspra, the drug's earnings potential and positive cash flow is elusive at best. A portfolio analysis of Pfizer's cardiovascular franchise would suggest redeploying promotional spend on Inspra to up-and-coming stars like Caduet (amlodipine/atorvastatin) or torcetrapib to ensure those drugs reach their sales potential."

HOW TO DEVELOP GOOD BCG GROWTH-SHARE MATRIX OF A COMPANY?
SBUs or products are represented on the model by circles and fall into one of the four cells of the matrix already described above. Mathematically, the mid-point of the axis on the scale of Low-High is represented by 1.0 (Drummond & Ensor 2004; Kotler 2003). At this point, the SBU's or product's market share equals that of its largest competitor's market share (Drummond & Ensor 2004; Kotler 2003). Next, calculate the relative market share and market growth for each SBU and product. Figure 3 depicts the formulas to calculate the relative market share and market growth.
Fig 3

Oftentimes, if you are versed with a particular industry and companies operating in it, you could draw up a BCG matrix for any company without necessarily computing figures for the relative market share and market growth. Figure 4 depicts a fairly accurate BCG growth-share matrix for Apple Computer developed in the spring of 2005 without the author calculating the relative market share and market growth.
Fig. 4 Source: Asong (2005)

Once the products or SBUs have been plotted, the planner then has to decide on the objective, strategy and budget for the business lines. Basically, at this juncture the organisations should strive to maintain a balanced portfolio. Cash generated from Cash Cows should flow into Stars and Question Marks in an effort to create future Cash Cows. Moreover, there are 4 major strategies that can be pursued at this stage as described in the ensuing section.

AVAILABLE STRATEGIES TO PURSUE

Build
The product or SBU's market share needs to be increased to strengthen its position. Short-term earnings and profits are deliberately forfeited because it is hoped that the long-term gains will be higher than this. This strategy is suited to Question Marks if they are to become stars.

Hold
The objective is to maintain the current share position and this strategy is often used for Cash Cows so that they continue to generate large amounts of cash.

Harvest
Here management tries to increase short-term cash flows as far as possible (e.g. price increase, cutting costs) even at the expense of the products or SBU's longer-term future. It is a strategy suited to weak Cash Cows or Cash Cows that are in a market with a limited future. Harvesting is also used for Question Marks where there is no possibility of turning them into Stars, and for Dogs.

Divest
The objective of this strategy is to rid the organisation of the products or SBUs that are a drain on profits and to utilize these resources elsewhere in the business where they will be of greater benefit. This strategy is typically used for Question Marks that will not become Stars and for Dogs.

WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION FOR THE BCG GROWTH-SHARE MATRIX?
Information for the BCG Growth-Share matrix is generated from multiple sources including company's annual reports, sec fillings and a host of specialised research organisations such as IDC, Hoover, Edgar, Forrester and many more. Armed with this information, developing a BCG growth-share matrix should pose less of a problem.

Limitations
The BCG model is criticised for having a number of limitations (Kotler 2003; McDonald 2003):

There are other reasons other than relative market share and market growth that could influence the allocation of resources to a product or SBU: reasons such as the need for strong brand name and product positioning could compel resource allocation to an SBU or product (Drummond & Ensor 2004).

What is more, the model rests on net cash consumption or generation as the fundamental portfolio balancing criterion. That is appropriate only in a capital constrained environment. In modern economies, with relatively frictionless capital flows, this is not the appropriate metric to apply - rather, risk-adjusted discounted cash flows should be used (ManyWorlds 2005).

Also, the matrix assumes products/business units are independent of each other, and independent of assets outside of the business. In other words, there is no provision for synergy among products/business units. This is rarely realistic.

The relationship between cash flow and market share may be weak due to a number of factors including (Cipher 2006): competitors may have access to lower cost materials unrelated to their relative share position; low market share producers may be on steeper experience curves due to superior production technology; and strategic factors other than relative market share may affect profit margins.

In addition, the growth-share matrix is based on the assumption that high rates of growth use large cash resources and that maturity of the life cycle brings about the expected profit returns. This may be incorrect due to various reasons (Cipher 2006): capital intensity may be low and the business/product could be grown without major cash outlay; high entry barriers may exist so margins may be sustainable and big enough to produce a positive cash flow and a growth at the same time; and industry overcapacity and price competition may depress prices in maturity.

Furthermore, market growth is not the only factor or necessarily the most important factor when assessing the attractiveness of a market. A fast growing market is not necessarily an attractive one. Growth markets attract new entrants and if capacity exceeds demand then the market may become a low margin one and therefore unattractive. A high growth market may lack size and stability.
Given the aforementioned weaknesses, the BCG Growth-Share matrix must be used with care; nonetheless, it is a best-known business portfolio evaluation model (Kotler 2003).

Hoover 40311048 Deep-Cleansing Fragrance-Free Carpet/Upholstery Detergent, 48 Ounces

Hoover, 48 OZ, Deep Cleaning, Carpet Detergent, Fragrance & Dye Free, Biodegradable.
Customer Review: Works as expected
Cleans the carpet well, as I would expect, and does NOT give the house the revolting stink of a public toilet at cleaning time, as their regular product and their competitors' products do. It leaves no odor of its own that I can sense. I don't suffer from migraine but this would probably be a good choice for those who do.
Customer Review: Hoovers Cleaner
Works perfectly with my Hoovers Steamvac. Will continue buying, since it seems to work better than the other brands out.

Why do we need chlorine shower filters? What can chlorine filters for shower heads do to improve our health? You'll find the answers here.

There are a number of different contaminants that can find there way into the water we all use for our showers and baths. Whether chemicals, sediment, certain elements, microbiological agents, it is important to identify the source of the problem and then to find the proper method to deal with the problem. One of the more prevalent, insidious and potentially dangerous contaminants, chlorine is added by public water treatment facilities.

The treatment facilities need to disinfect prompts our need for chlorine shower filters. More and more people are using chlorine filters for shower heads.

It's probably safe to say that most know that salt is also known as sodium chloride. That chloride is the element chlorine, in it's most abundant natural form, bound to the element sodium. In it's natural state, it is commonly found in water and is not dangerous. If it were only natural water that we had to worry about, we would not need chlorine shower filters.

Commercial chlorine is produced by passing an electrical current through the two elements. The chlorine, now in it's natural, gaseous form, is then used mainly as a disinfecting agent in swimming pools and drinking water as it is highly effective against microbiological agents. Since, in it's natural state, it is not harmful, it was believed to be safe for drinking and bath water. If that were the case, the popularity of chlorine filters for shower heads would be difficult to understand.

But, now we know that the caustic nature of commercial chlorine can have harmful short and long-term effects on our health. Making the water in any bathroom unsafe, unless we use chlorine shower filters.

You may think that if you have a well, you don't need chlorine filters for shower heads, but this type of contamination is particularly prevalent in well water. Chlorine used commercially finds it's way to this water source by seeping through the ground. Most people probably don't think twice about emptying their pools into the ground where chemicals within the pool water are absorbed into the soil, eventually finding their way to the underground well. Rain is also an unwilling culprit, pulling contaminants from the air or from industrial sites to runoff into the soil.

Chlorine shower filters have become more prominent as of late as people have become more educated as to the dangers of these contaminants in their shower water. Chlorine, as stated before, is poisonous. Dissolved in water, it can cause dry skin, irritation, and damage hair. Used in a hot shower, it can regain it's gaseous form and be inhaled. The potential dangers to one's health are numerous.

Faced with all of this, it might be a wise choice to protect you and your family with chlorine filters for shower heads in your home. There are many choices on the market. Doing a simple online search for chlorine shower filters will yield page upon page of options. It is imperative to find chlorine shower filters that can effectively purify your shower water, so take your time to make the best choice. Many sites have independent user ratings that may help you in your search.

Chlorine filters for shower heads will significantly reduce your exposure to this harmful irritant. Be sure to follow all instructions for installation and replacement. You should purchase chlorine shower filters for all of the bathrooms in your house that have showers. Should problems with odor, skin or bronchial irritation persist, check for proper installation, as well as the life-expectancy of the filters, it may be time to replace them.

Rated X (Unrated Version)

Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen bring to the screen the critically-acclaimed true story of the Mitchell Brothers, the original San Francisco sex entrepreneurs. A truly daring portrait of the early days of American pornography.
Customer Review: Yes, it's rated X (or should be)
Emilio Estavez directed this, but one wonders why. It doesn't take a genius to realize that a movie about two porn movie directors is not going to win any Academy Awards. What was Emilio thinking? You can play it as tragedy. You certainly can't make heroes of these guys. I guess what he was thinking was this was a part of America from the sixties to the nineties in the twentieth century--this was the reality and let's tell the truth. But somebody else might say, why bother? Most critics and viewers would call this a prize turkey, but...but is there some redeeming social value? Charlie Sheen and Estavez star as the brothers Mitchell, two entrepreneurial guys who stumble from the free love scene of the sixties in San Francisco to the cash cow of the first widely distributed porn movies, including the infamous "Behind the Green Door." Maybe there is a kind of free speech angle here, with the porno boys fighting the good fight against censorship and Big Brother. On the other hand, there is a didactic tale here about how success corrupts and how sex, drugs and rock and roll--forget the rock and roll; this is almost pure sex and drugs--how sex and drugs may lead you to make a movie called "Sodom and Gomorrah" which may suggest that you ought to be starring it in. Charlie Sheen is very good and so is Estavez. His direction is also not bad. The movie moves right along and the degeneration of the brothers is well expressed. Megan Ward had a chance in a supporting role here, but she failed miserably, possibly because how could she feel any connection with a role that made her the quasi-tolerant, quasi-suffering wife of a man who makes his living pandering to lust (and indulging his own) while smoking, drinking and snorting anything he can get his hands on? Not pretty. However, I wouldn't be surprised if someday in the distant future, long after I am gone, in some social science class at say Cal Berkeley this movie is played as augmenting an anthropological study of a certain segment of our population in the later part of the 20th century. The students can see this as a film documenting the moral corruption of a nation following Vietnam and the Nixon administration, perhaps even anticipating the moral corruption we see today. But I would advise you to skip this unless you are a big Emilio Estavez fan, in which case this is a must see, or if you are a Charlie Sheen fan, and then it is worth seeing because this is one of his better performances--and it's amusing to see these guys in their bald domes and their side burns and authentic seventies attire. To be honest, I've seen people win Academy Awards who weren't half as good as Sheen was. Naturally this won nothing.
Customer Review: Band of brothers.....
Real life mainstream actors/brothers Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen take on the amusing and twisted underground characters/brothers of Artie and Jim Mitchell in "RATED X". Artie and Jim Mitchell were at the forefront of the San Francisco porn revolution in the early 70's. The owned their owned theater, made their own X rated films- and lived a life of abundant excess. When they created/produced/wrote and directed "Behind the Green Door", they found themselves thrust in the spotlight - and made millions. Unfortunately, their success sufferd a serious backlash- and while some were able to pick up and recover - others only found themselves thrust deeper into a life a drugs, despair, and eventually murder. The movie takes an unflinching look at a classic time in American Hostory, and the story of the Mitchell Brothers is quite amusing and saddening at the same time. Great direction by Emilio Estevez and some fine acting by both actors (especially Sheen in the final half of the film) make this an entertaing "diamond in the rough". Recommended!

We now have an energy crisis beyond any proportion in our American history. It's really our fault. We sat on our collective asses and let our government allow the contributors to their campaigns make hundreds of billions of dollars while eliminating subsidies for alternative energy over a decade ago. We have the ability to eliminate oil as a primary fuel within five years if we force our government to invest in our country instead of telling us about "free market" forces until we all choke from coal plants and have to do our banking at the Saudi Branch Bank on the corner of Main Street and Far East Avenue. The Hoover Dam was build by the government during one of the worst economic times we've ever seen. It provides an enormous amount of power, imagine that concept with solar mirrors and windmills.

Public projects such as roads, bridges, and power plants gave this country the ability to prosper and grow. We here in the Southwest have more solar emittance than anywhere else in this country. If you don't believe that, come out to Vegas in August and see for yourself. The title line of this blog comes from the movie "Fools Rush In," and there are days in the summer that question is heard from anyone venturing out for a walk on the Strip.

There is no viable reason for our government to not put together an energy policy and participate in solar, geothermal, and wind resources here in Nevada. The Bureau of Land Management owns over 75% of the land in the State of Nevada and the military uses millions of acres as well. The time for rhetoric about privatizing is over. The regime in Washington is more concerned with Yucca Mountain than it is building breeder reactors to use the resources of the tons of fuel they would bury for 250,000 years. France has been using breeder reactors for many years and it is only our paranoia that the byproduct of the process-plutonium-is a crucial element in nuclear bombs and (God only knows how) might be stolen and used to make one. Never mind if one wants plutonium from a nuclear energy facility in a civilized country they would have a better chance of stopping the earth's rotation. People now drive to Mexico from San Diego to buy gas at half the price because the government subsidizes and runs the oil business. That is not even what I am asking you to ponder-just get the government to begin to put plans and efforts in place to use what has been given to us as an unlimited free resource. It is in our scope of national security.

There are answers, there is hope, but only we can make that a reality by demanding it. The sun shines on Las Vegas and the rest of Nevada-start using the gifts we been given and get this parasitic government to do what it is supposed to-our will! If we do, the resulting power will eventually cut off all money flowing to foreign countries for energy resources-and that without the shell game of opening up drilling that the politicians are already counting on to increase the flow of money in their pockets. Of course now we have no choice, they have to drill offshore, but do you think that's going to lower the price of oil substantially? It will not happen.

There's just no excuse not to act as you-Mr. and Ms. John Q. Public are paying through your noses because you have not spoken up and allowed this all to happen as your comfortable existence wasn't disturbed. All that's changed now-are you ready to deal with it?

If at all possible, bring the original reference number for your vacuum cleaner, know the name of the brand, the model name, and possibly even the sku number for it. If You Dont Know the Brand, Find Out

If you dont know what your vacuum name or sku is, then go look. Go to the vacuum displays at the store and look for your model. After all, you know what your vacuum looks like. Once you find it, you can ask an associate to point you to the right bag or part.

Go to the Right Stores

Customer Review: Great vacuum!
We've had 2 or 3 bagless vacuums that have broken within 1-2 years after getting them. They've gotten clogged, etc. We ordered this vacuum instead and it works wonderfully! Much better than even the new bagless ones! Great buy and great deal for this wonderful vacuum!
Customer Review: Bad Belt, just like others
Great price at $70 and free shipping, great cleaning power especially with 2 rabbits running around the place. All the accessories that was included was also good in getting to the hard to reach areas. But one sticking point that seems the same throughout some other reviews is the drive belt, the belt snapped under 2 months of ownership, probably 6-9 times of light usage (two medium area rugs).

It always seems that your vacuum will malfunction right before company is set to arrive. What do you do if your vacuum is not working correctly? Many people will simply throw away their vacuum and purchase a new one. However, did you know that it is quite easy to repair a vacuum cleaner?

You can find a lot of great information by checking out the website of the manufacturer who made your vacuum. For instance, if you have a Hoover vacuum, you can learn specifically about Hoover parts and how they work.

In order to repair the problem, you first need to determine what is wrong with your vacuum cleaner.

There are actually not a lot of vacuum parts which malfunction. The most common problem is a belt malfunction. To check out the vacuum cleaner belt, you will want to flip the vacuum on its front so that the brush is facing you. You will notice a small plate around the brush. Unscrew this. Check the belt. It is possible that it has snapped or has wrapped itself around a portion of the brush. If it is broken, you will want to take the belt with you to a store to purchase a new one. Many stores carry vacuum cleaner parts, including stores like Walmart and Target. You should be able to identify the proper size belt and many times a package will contain several size belts making it easier to insure you have the right one. Vacuum cleaner belts are not expensive at all.

You also will want to check the vacuum agitator brush. Sometimes it can become tangled with hair, pieces of carpet or string. You should use a pair of scissors to cut all of that out. Once it is clean, you can simply replace the belt and screw the plate back on the front.

If your vacuum is having poor suction, you might have something blocking one of the hoses. Remove the hoses one at a time, consulting your owner's manual if needed. If you have trouble reaching the blockage you can use the end of a mop or broomstick to push the obstruction through.

It also makes sense to do some routine maintenance on your vacuum. You will want to check the vacuum filter frequently to insure that it is not too dirty or blocked. The vacuum filter can affect the performanace of your machine. Also check the cord of your vacuum to make sure that it hasn't become frayed. Vacuum cords can often become damaged when they are run over by the vacuum.

Most of the problems you have with your vacuum will be related to either the agitator brush, the belt, or a blockage. You can save yourself a lot of time and money if you do the repairs yourself. You will be surprised how easy it is.

Sometimes a vacuum has electrical problems and those are a lot more difficult to fix on your own. In that case it is probably better to take it to someone who knows how to repair vacuums or make the move to a new machine.

Next time you have vacuum trouble, try these simple tricks. They might just breathe new life back into your vacuum!
